what we collect, why, and who sees it. spoiler: we don't sell your data.

1. the short version

We collect the minimum we need to run a paid Q&A platform: your email, a display name, the questions and answers themselves, and payment records. Answered questions are public by design. We do not sell your data, and we never see or store your card or UPI credentials; payments are handled by regulated payment partners.

This policy explains how QPOP TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED handles personal data on qpop.app, consistent with Indian law including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

2. what we collect

  • Account data: your email address (verified by one-time code or Google sign-in), display name, username for creators, and optional profile details such as a bio and minimum price.
  • Content: questions you ask, answers you publish, and the amounts paid, which become public once a question is answered.
  • Transaction data: records of payments, refunds and creator earnings, including amounts, timestamps, status and the reference IDs our payment partner issues. We do not receive or store card numbers, UPI PINs or banking credentials; those go directly to the payment partner.
  • Creator tax data: PAN, GST registration status and GSTIN where applicable, and payout details. We collect these because the law requires platforms to deduct, collect and report certain taxes on creator earnings.
  • Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) and strictly necessary cookies used to keep you signed in. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.

3. why we use it

  • To operate the service: accounts, asking, answering, publishing.
  • To process payments, refunds and creator payouts through our payment partners, and to keep the records the law requires us to keep.
  • To send transactional email: receipts, answer notifications, refund confirmations. These are part of the service, not marketing.
  • To keep the platform safe: moderation, fraud and abuse prevention.
  • To comply with tax, accounting and other legal obligations.

4. what is public

QPop is public by design. When a creator answers a question, the question, the answer, the display name of the person who asked and the amount paid are published on the creator profile, and may appear in shareable images, link previews and search engines. Unanswered and declined questions are never published. Think before putting personal information inside a question: the question itself becomes public if answered.

5. who we share data with

We share data only with the service providers we need to run QPop, under their own contractual and legal safeguards.

  • Payment processing: our payment partners, to collect payments, settle creator earnings and process refunds.
  • Infrastructure: our hosting and database providers.
  • Email delivery: our transactional email provider.
  • Authorities: where the law requires it, such as tax filings that include creator earnings, or valid legal requests.

6. how long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is active. Published questions and answers are a permanent part of the creator public profile; that permanence is a core feature of the service you agree to when asking. Transaction and tax records are retained for as long as Indian tax and company law requires, even after an account is closed. QPOP TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED is the entity responsible for this data.

7. your rights

You can access and correct your account information from your dashboard. Under the DPDP Act you may also request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, nominate a person to exercise your rights, and raise a grievance. Write to support@qpop.app. We honour erasure requests except where we are required to retain data, such as transaction records, or where content is part of the public service you consented to when it was published; in those cases we tell you what was retained and why.

8. security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by row-level security in our database, and payment credentials never touch our systems. No internet service can promise perfect security, but we design so that the sensitive path, money, is handled by regulated payment infrastructure rather than by us.

9. children

QPop is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe a minor is using QPop, contact us and we will act on it.

10. grievances and contact

Grievance officer: Rajdeep Singha, reachable at support@qpop.app and at our registered office listed below. We acknowledge grievances within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days. If we update this policy, the date above changes and material updates are announced on the site or by email.
